This app is used in order to intercept text messages. It started as a project to simply take a list of phone numbers, and then intercept the text messages so that they aren't cluttering the regular SMS's inbox. Mostly for things like ads or spam texts, which you still want to receive, but don't want them showing up in your texts box.
It has grown and matured, to the point where it can be used as an entire SMS conversation holder. It can send SMS's, and it can receive them. It's not *yet* meant to be able to replace your normal SMS app (and it never really was, but it's growing), but it certainly works for the purpose described above... to intercept texts that you don't want showing up in your SMS inbox.
While building it, I suspected that people want to use this for private communications. Just to be able to keep their texts to certain people kind of hidden. As such, the app requires a login by default. You can bypass this, by long holding the skull (after putting in your user credentials) and the app will auto-login.
There is a lot more on the way. The ability to keep an entire SMS thread off the record (no history), auto-responding, sms blocking, and sending a text to someone at a specific date and time. It will grow, but in the mean time, it's nice for redirecting SMS's to somewhere other than your normal inbox, and even being able to chat a bit.
There are a couple of things I'm stilling ironing out: ie: automatically updating the view when an SMS comes in, and the ability to remove an SMS thread, and possibly even individual messages, but remember.... it's not done yet.

- Once the Ghost SMS is shown in the Google Play listing of your Android device, you can start its download and installation. Tap on the Install button located below the search bar and to the right of the app icon.
- A pop-up window with the permissions required by Ghost SMS will be shown. Click on Accept to continue the process.
- Ghost SMS will be downloaded onto your device, displaying a progress. Once the download completes, the installation will start and you'll get a notification after the installation is finished.
